Girls on the Run Needs About 50 More Buddies by May 7

One of my favorite ways to volunteer in our running community is as a running buddy. I’ve done it five times and look forward to doing it again when I’m not recovering from an emergency c-section!

Running buddies volunteer by running a 5k with their young runner on two dates: May 7th at the practice 5k and May 30th at the Girls on the Run 5k. That’s it. Simple and fun!

The locations of the practice 5k events that need the most buddies are:

  • Carus Elementary in Canby
  • Menlo Park Elementary at 128th and NE Glisan
  • Cooper Mountain Elementary
  • Scott School on 67th and Prescott in Beaverton

The location for the Girls on the Run 5k on May 30, 2015 is Greenway Park in Beaverton.

  1. Good point – the Salem Girls on the Run has had a 5k for a few years now. This is the first year that the PDX chapter is holding their own event (in the past they have run at the Starlight Run). Thanks Susan!
