Race preview: 2015 Cheadle Lake Fun Run (10k & 5k)

Cheadle Lake in Lebanon is one of my favorite places to run, when I am in the area. It has a solid collection of paved running trails, as well as some off-road trails that lend themselves well to mud runs and other similar events. It is also typically pretty quiet and the surrounding area can be very peaceful. Take in a run here and you will understand what I mean.

Your next chance to do so is at the 2015 Cheadle Lake Fun Run, held on Saturday, May 2, 2015. This event is in its 6th running and features an obstacle course for the kids. The race helps raise money for Build Lebanon Trails, which works to design and build trails. To date, they have created more than 50 miles of hiking and walking trails around Lebanon and is always attempting to bring more opportunities for health and fitness to local residents.

Course maps are still tentative, though it will obviously take place around the trails of Cheadle Lake. The 2014 event saw almost a combined 225 runners. New this year, there will also be baked potatoes and chili for participants post-race. Yum!
