Race Preview: 2015 Falcon 15K Relay

The Falcon 15K Relay will once again be held at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. If you enjoy the camaraderie of  a relay, but would rather skip the traffic, van rides, and lack of sleep that a traditional relay provides - this event is right up your alley!  This 3 person relay allows each runner to complete the same 5K loop - no driving required!  (Except for the drive to the start line, of course.)  If you can't gather a team of 3, you can run as an individual and choose from the 5K, 10K, or 15K.

This chip-timed USATF certified 5K loop is mostly flat with the start and finish at Liberty High School.  (See course map here.) Walkers are welcome to enter the 5K and the 300 meter Falcon Flyers Kids Run is free!

This race benefits Liberty Fit, a unique fitness club that encourages those who aren’t out for a spring sport to participate in training for a half marathon. Last year over 150 students were involved in some capacity and over half completed the training necessary to run a half marathon! This 15 week program is free to all participants and run by volunteers, but does require funding.  The Falcon 15K is one of the fundraisers to keep Liberty Fit running. The goal this year is to raise $7500.  Your participation in the Falcon 15K will help make this goal a reality and make sure kids will have the opportunity to participate in accomplishing something amazing.

After the race, food will be provided by Noodles and Company and drinks will be provided by Jamba Juice.  All participants will receive a finisher’s medal and awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place men and women in the individual races and teams for the relay.
