The 2015 Tulip Trail Run just came across our desks this morning, and given the quick race date, we wanted to get it highlighted ASAP. This race is coming up on Saturday, March 28 at the famed Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn.
This is sure to be a beautiful race, as it will be in the trails actually through the tulip fields. The course terrain will feature the dirt/mud from the fields, as well as sections of grass, farm fields, and gravel. In addition to running through the fields, runners will parallel hazelnut groves, near a coyote den and through the farm’s fields. The 10k will send runners a little deeper into the beauty of the farm area. The course will be marked off with orange cones and flagging tape, and while there are no maps up yet, it should be relatively straight forward. Since this is a “trail run”, there is the possibility that the course will be wet and muddy – plan accordingly!
Your race fee will include not only a timed race, but also a race shirt and admission to the Tulip Festival after the run as well. There will be awards to the top three male and female finishers as well. If you haven’t been to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm, I highly recommend sticking around afterwards (and brining a change of clothes just in case). Besides the tulip field there are always a bunch of food and drink vendors (including beer, wine, and coffee), as well as kids activities. It’s definitely a great place to hang out on an afternoon regardless of running.
The race benefits the Oregon City High School Track and Field Team.
