Vancouver’s Park and Recreation website tells a visual tale of one of their many magnificent running trails -The Waterfront Renaissance Trail.
This trail connects Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver with Marine Park along a paved five-mile long riverfront trail perfect for walking, jogging, biking or rollerblading. With gorgeous views of the I-5 and I-205 bridges and Mount Hood, this trail is a west Vancouver stunner.
The Water Resources Education Center lies along the trail, as do the Old Apple Tree, Marine Park, Kaiser Viewing Tower and Shipyards, and Tidewater Cove. Along the way are shops, restaurants and great places to picnic, play or just enjoy the view. The trail continues east to end at Wintler Park.
Tempted to lace your running shoes and head out to explore this scenic trail? Here’s a great opportunity to do so. The Marine Park 5k will be taking advantage of 3 out of the 5 miles on this magnificent trail. The Clark County Running Club boasts that this will be a flat and fast 5k, so if you’ve been wanting to reach your next 5k PR, this would be the race to try it in! Come out on April 4th for the Marine Park 5k and either run a casual race while enjoying the sights, or bring your speed and make a new personal best!
