Kick off spring with a beautiful run or walk in the Pugent Sound on March 22nd. Mercer Island is hosting their 42nd annual Half Marathon, 10k run, 5k and a 1/2 mile kids’ dash. Last year the event hosted a record 5,000 participants running and walking.

March 22nd 6:30 am Day of registration begins 7:30 am Half Marathon walkers start 8:00 am Half Mile Kids’ Dash start 8:30 am 10K start 9:00 am Half Marathon runners start 9:30 am 5K run and walk start Course closure at 12pm
This event does not allow dogs (other than service animals) and no strollers.
Registration fees until March 6th are $65 for the half marathon, $40 for the 10K and $30 for the 5K. After the 6th, prices increase to $75, $45 and $35 respectively. However check out the website for additional discounts for seniors and military. Shirts are not guaranteed after March 19th. All half marathon finishers will receive a finisher’s medal. The half marathon course offers 7 water stations with three NUUN electrolyte stations and one Cliff shot station. The 10K will have two water stations with one NUUN station and the 5K will have one water station. The half marathon will circle the island, while the 10K will be an out and back course along the north end of the island as well as the 5k. Mercer island itself is about 6 miles from downtown Seattle, however it is recommended on the event webpage to seek lodging in Bellevue. If you haven’t visited the area, check out some of the great attractions such as the EMP Museum (currently offering an exhibit on costumes from Star Wars), the Seattle Space Needle, or just take s stroll through the Pike Street market or the Waterfront Park.
