The Small Race Preview is a weekly feature where we highlight an event put on by a local (usually volunteer) race organizer to benefit a local cause.
The Splint & Sprint 5k is this week’s featured small race. Taking place on Saturday, May 3 in Reedsport, Ore., the Splint & Sprint is so named because it’s a fund raiser for the Lower Umpqua Hospital Foundation, which supports public health in portions of Coos, Lane and Douglas Counties. Better yet, it’s only $5!
About an hour and a half southwest of Eugene on the Oregon Coast, Reedsport is near the mouth of the Umpqua River, separated by the Pacific Ocean by the Oregon Dunes National Recreational Area.
