Race Preview: Hop Hop Half & 5k
On Saturday, April 19, 2014 runners will be lining up on Marine Drive to conquer their chosen distance, either a 5k or Half Marathon. This course runs along the Columbia River on the Marine Drive Bike Path for the entirety of the race and will be flat and fast (I need all the help I can get). Course will be USATF Certified and chip timed and will have five aid stations with Nuun and Clif Shots, my two go-to choices for long distance.
Post-race you can expect Easter Egg Medals, mimosas, and brunch as well as family-friendly events (Easter Egg painting, anyone?!).
Register here and do it quick because the course is capped at 1,500 participants. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit St. Vincent DePaul, Portland Chapter.

Thanks for the reminder! I signed up for this race so long ago I’d forgotten about it!
Anne, glad I could remind you! I am really excited about this one!
I ran this race last year and am excited to be running it again this year!!! See you both there 🙂
See you there, Marilyn!
My wife and I have been debating doing this race (the 5K version) vs the Race for the Roses the previous week …. hmmm…. should we do both? We are really starting to enjoy this running thing … or at least the running events! 🙂
You could definitely do both! I had the same dilemma, but went with hop hop as I hadn’t done it before and I like that it’s a “smaller, capped” race. But race for the roses is a totally awesome and well-run race for sure.
