Coach Jim’s Free Group Run for Saturday, January 11, 2014

Coach Jim's free group run for this Saturday, January 11th is split into two loops - the first of 6 miles and the second of 8 miles. Both loops will start from Grand Central Bakery at 714 N. Fremont Ave; the first loop beginning at 8a and the second starting around 9:15a. If you're going to join in on loop #2, I recommend being there by 9a so you don't miss your pace group. Yes, Coach Jim's runs have pace group leaders!

It’s a great way to keep your training on track, whether you’re training for a marathon, a half marathon, or just upping your mileage. Paces range from about a 9:00 mile to about a 12:30 mile.

This is a free group run, and is open to everyone who wants to come along! Coach Jim is an RRCA-Certified Coach, and he’d love to meet you.

Just a side note from your friendly Run Oregon team – please don’t park in the small lot directly in front of Grand Central. They graciously accommodate the group and it’s a lot cooler if we don’t take up their whole parking lot during their busiest time of the week. There is plenty of parking in the neighborhood.

I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
