Granola bars are one of those staples we all think we know well. Portable. Convenient. Ideally packed with dense nutrients that keep you moving when time (or energy) is short. But as we all know—not all granola bars are created equal.
Lately, we’ve been noshing on a new-to-us option: NeuroFiber granola bars.

Now, full transparency right up front—this probably isn’t the bar we’d toss into a vest pocket for a long run deep in the woods. The nutrition is there, but the focus leans more toward gut health than immediate running stamina. And that’s not a bad thing… just something to be aware of. With 11g of fiber and a hefty dose of prebiotic fibers, this is the kind of bar you may not want to experiment with when you’re miles away from the nearest bathroom.
That said, gut health is often a precursor to broader health benefits—and sometimes a symptom when things aren’t quite right. Keeping your digestion dialed can have ripple effects across energy levels, recovery, and overall well-being. So, while this may not be your mid-run fuel of choice, it makes a lot of sense around your runs.
From a nutrition standpoint, NeuroFiber packs a lot into a small package:
- 11g of fiber
- 4g of protein
- 14g of prebiotic and whole-food fiber sources
- Omega-3s from plant-based seeds and nuts
- Antioxidants from green tea extract
- Key vitamins including E, D3, and B12
- Gluten-free, with prebiotic fibers that help support smoother digestion and compounds linked to reduced inflammation
Flavor-wise, there are a few options, but we spent time with the Lemon & Cranberry (update: still a sucker for that combo). It’s not as sweet as expected, which we actually appreciated. It’s not the most tasty bar out there, but there’s just enough sweetness to keep things interesting. The whole-foods construction is immediately evident—this is a dense bar, both in texture and nutrition.
Final Take
NeuroFiber granola bars won’t replace your gels or chews on race day, but they shine as a daily health bar, a pre-run snack, or something to keep digestion and nutrition on track between workouts. If you’re looking to support gut health without sacrificing real ingredients and thoughtful formulation, NeuroFiber earns a spot in the rotation.
As always—know your body, know your gut, and choose wisely before heading too far from the trailhead.
