Vancouver and Clark County, WA have quickly become a hotbed of activity on the local racing scene in the last decade or so. One such race, brought to us by Why Racing Events, is the St. Patrick’s Day themed race, the Couve Clover Run.
This event, held on Sunday March 22nd this year at Vancouver Waterfront Park, includes 3-, 7-, and 10-mile races. There is also, as always, a 3-mile untimed walk option.
The routes, all mostly flat and fast, will take runners on a tour of some of downtown Vancouver’s most scenic areas, from Ft. Vancouver and Officer’s Row to Esther Short Park and the Farmer’s Market.
All entrants will receive a tech shirt, finisher’s medal, and a swag bag! The post-event party has historically been hosted by some Vancouver pubs/breweries, so stick around and have some fun. There is also a costume competition, so be prepared to bring your “A” game and wear some green!
Awards will be presented to the top three men and women in each distance.

St. Patrick’s Day falls on the Monday before the race this year, and you can run Portland’s Shamrock Run Fest on the 15th and extend your celebration through the week by running the Couve Clover Run the following Sunday! You’ll be Dublin the fun, and your friends will say “I rish I’d signed up for both races too!”
