Portland Design Works (PDW) always finds creative ways to elevate cycling gear, and their new Tandem Mice Collection is no exception. As big fans of local companies, we were excited to collaborate with them, especially since we have a “Bike Oregon” feature on our blog. PDW, known for its beautifully designed, practical cycling gear with playful touches, has delivered once again.

This time, PDW has brought us something a little more casual with a seriously cool logo. Earlier this year, the 1928 classic Mickey and Minnie Tandem Mice cartoon entered the public domain, and PDW seized the opportunity to bring it back to life. They teamed up with Portland tattoo artist Jake Tong, who added a Steamboat Willie-inspired flair, while staying true to the original feel of the classic cartoon.
The result? A logo that screams Pacific Northwest. Picture this: two characters joyfully riding a tandem bike, with wide smiles and keeping dry under angry clouds and rain overhead. If that doesn’t capture Portland, what does?
The logo looks fantastic across the whole range—whether it’s on a T-shirt, water bottle, beanie, or hat. With the rainy season on its way, the Tandem Mice Collection is a perfect reminder to embrace the elements and keep on riding, no matter the weather.
