When I head out the door for my runs, I prefer my strides falls into rhythm with the pulsating beats of EDM music. I don’t LOVE my choice per se, but there’s just something about EDM that keeps me going fast. Inevitably, every playlist I curate for my runs features the electrifying sounds of Diplo, his tracks serving as the ultimate catalyst for my performance.
Diplo is actually a legitimate runner (though we do NOT advocate for running on LSD) and has two new events coming to the West Coast this September in San Francisco and Seattle. If you are a Diplo fan and looking for a running and musical experience, read on:
The Courses:
-
San Francisco (September 8th)
-
San Francisco Course Map
- I actually ran (unknowingly) this route when I was in San Fran this winter. The race will stay on the scenic pathways along the bay and pass the beneath the majestic Bay Bridge and alongside the iconic Ferry Building and around Oracle Park, where the pulse of baseball beats strong.
-
-
Seattle event (September 14th)
-
Seattle Course Map
- I have also ran this course before. The race will start and finish near the famed Gas Works Park on the north end of Lake Union. It will run around the Fremont district and finish with some of the finest views in the city.

Afterwards:
These are posed as more than just a 5k – but an entire experience. After the 5k, expect to unwind and celebrate with post-run festivities, including music performances, refreshments, and exclusive merchandise. Diplo knows a lot of people, so I would assume his post-race music extravaganza is going to be something special.
