Crater Lake is on so many “Must See” lists for Oregon that I wonder if you can even count yourself as an Oregonian without having visited. And if you need to mark off this goal, why not doing so while enjoy a walk or run along the way.
In 2024, Crater Lake Rim Runs and Marathon is being hosted for the 47th time. Course options include 6.7, 13, or 26.2 miles (walkers must stick with the 6.7 miler). Spaces is limited to 500 participants across all races. Check out the website for additional age and pace restrictions.
All courses offer views along the rim of Crater Lake with rugged mountains meaning fabulous views. The courses are paved roads, except for dirt trails along the final four miles of the marathon. Aid stations are approximately ever 2 miles, with more food available at the finish line. Buses provide transportation to the starting line and back from the finish line to several local loading areas (more details online). All finishers will earn a medal and shirt celebrating their beautiful day in the mountains.
