If you’re looking for a way to get in a good run while honoring what Memorial Weekend is all about, then head to Sweet Home on Saturday, May 26th for the Hero Half Marathon. Race day includes a half marathon, 8k, 1.3 mile mini race, and auction that honors our veterans, with proceeds benefitting the Vietnam Veterans of America.
The events start and end at the Community Chapel in Sweet Home and will feature chip timing and plenty of water stations. Plus, waiting at the finish line will be an Umpqua Ice Cream truck!
While it is self-described as a “challenging half” and a “flat 8k”, either would be a great option to get to Sweet Home for some good running for a good cause!
