I’m racing the day before the Pioneer Dam Run in Vancouver, Washington … but I just might have to get myself registered for this event, too! It looks awesome! The Pioneer Dam Run takes place Sunday, June 19 in Brownsville, Oregon (approximately 20 minutes north of Eugene). Proceeds from this event go to aid in refurbishing the Central Linn High School Track!
Choose to participate in the 10K or 5K distances. The start/finish line is located at the Linn County Historical Museum, with a start time or 8 a.m. Each course is an out-and-back style, with the 5K turnaround occurring at about the 1.5 mile mark (no hills this year). The 10K route takes participates out to the historic site of the Brownsville Dam along the stunning Calapooya River, then turns around. Both courses feature a wonderful flat and fast course, and take participants for a tour through the scenic Calapooya River Valley.
Registration is available in person at the Brownsville HealthMart Pharmacy, by mail with a printable entry form, or online. Entry fees are currently $28 for either distance, which includes a technical event shirt (if registered by June 10). Ages 17 and under may register for $20. Race morning registration is available for an additional $5.
Awards and prizes will be presented after the race. The top two overall male and female finishers in each distance, and the top two finishers in each age bracket/distance will receive an award. Prizes will be given to the first place male and female finisher in each distance – the prize being a hefty $50 gift card to Eugene Running Company!
… I might just see you out there! I’m so tempted to sign-up!
