Race Preview: Summer Solstice Dash and Bash 5K 6/20/16 (Springfield, Ore.)

Join me at the wonderful, Monday evening event – the Summer Solstice Dash and Bash. This 5K event occurs on the first day of summer (!!), Monday, June 20, 2016 at Dorris Ranch Park in Springfield at 6:20 p.m. Bring the entire family and lots of friends, as this is going to be a huge party!

The Summer Solstice Dash and Bash is a benefit for the Willamalane “Snack Pack Program”. The 5K course will zip through the stunning orchards at Dorris Ranch Park. You’ll travel through the black walnut meadow, past the pump house and packing shed, by ‘road’, ‘nursery’, ‘cannery’, ‘clump’, ‘black walnut’, ‘goat’ and ‘walnut’ orchard, and passing by the ‘oak’ and ‘riparian’ woodlands. It’s beautiful, gorgeous, and will be a treat to see!

After the race, Sugar Sauce will be on site playing music, and there will be vendors on site to purchase dinner at and listen to the concert. There will also be prizes for the largest team, the team with the most pizzazz, and the fastest team. Additionally, prizes will be given to the top three finishers in each age group. All finishers receive a complimentary beverage.

Entry fees are $20, or $35 with a short-sleeve technical event shirt. Kids 10 and under are free. Race day registration is available for an additional $5. The shirt deadline is June 8.

I’ll be out there running through the gorgeous orchards of Dorris Ranch Park, and I hope to see you all out there welcoming in Summer!
