When people are considering brands for running clothes, my guess is that they often aren’t thinking of heading into Road Runner Sports to buy their store brand, Korsa. But having reviewed quite a few of their items, I’m here to tell you they are absolutely players in the gear game.
I have yet to try any Korsa item that I didn’t love and with winter coming sooner than later (sorry to burst your bubble) quality clothes become even more important in keeping us warm and dry.
I got to review:
- Glacier Tech Full Length Tights
- Tech Jogger Pants
- Serenity Long Sleeve 1/2-Zip Technical Top
- Haven Runner Jacket 2.0
I feel these items will be reached for often for a long run and for the cooldown after as well.
Looks
The Glacier Tech Full Length Tights came to me in classic black, good for every occasion. They also come in Heather Wine and a rich wine color called Teak which I also own. These tights have a drawcord through a slim but stretchy elastic waist with the logo name on them. There is one side zipper pocket on the left thigh, and though it’s not quite big enough for some phones, it should hold a car key, a debit card, and/or a gel easily.
The Glacier Tech Jogger Pants arrived in a pretty midnight blue color. They also come in the Heather Wine color as well as basic black. The ankle cuffs and waistline are made of a thick, stretchy band of material.
I received the Serenity Long Sleeve 1/2-Zip in a gray color called Stone. This also comes in black and Cloud, which is an off-white shade. There are no pockets and the zipper down the front extends, as the name suggests, down to about the middle of the center of the chest.
The Haven Jacket 2.0 came to my door in black. As I type this, black is the only color option, but I think most would agree that black is the most popular option for many athletes. What’s great is that the logo at the left chest is reflective, so that helps with visibility when it gets dark outside.
Function and Construction
Bar none, the Glacier Tech Tights are my favorite leggings when the temps get colder. I will likely live in them all winter (when they aren’t in the dirty clothes bin!) These were not only a favorite of mine for running last winter, but I also often wore them on the colder days on the playground when I was working at an elementary school outside for 4 hours at a time.
The fleecy inside feel of the lining is plush, cozy, and warm. The jersey brushed fabric is so buttery soft on the skin that I could (and have) wear them all day. Reflective heat transfer is built in for visibility and the fabric is antimicrobial and moisture-wicking. These tights won’t pill or snag either.
The Glacier Joggers have the same brushed fabric inside of them that the tights have, and if you couldn’t tell from my above description, I’m a big fan. They will keep you warm for occasions like standing out at soccer games or for pulling on after a run when your body temp goes down and you start to get cold.
They have an elastic waistband with a drawcord so you can adjust them to whatever size you need and the elastic cuffs will keep those ankles warm. They are ankle length with 2 front pockets and 2 back patch pockets for all your essentials. I often slide my phone into a back pocket when I’m out and about.
The Serenity ½-Zip has the absolute perfect name because the material is absolute Heaven. It’s silky and as soft as a cloud, and every single time I wear it, I get lots of compliments, especially when people have to reach out and touch my arm. It’s also functional, as the material is wicking, so it’s perfect for throwing on after a workout.
If you’re looking to snuggle under a warm blanket, this is as close to that as you’ll get. It has a tall self-collar to keep your neck warm but the ½ zip means you can adjust it as needed for your preference.
The Haven Jacket 2.0 is both water and wind-resistant, so it will perform for you when the weather turns. Despite that, it’s incredibly lightweight and can even pack into its own front left zip pocket with a bungee elastic, which makes it the perfect traveling companion.
The hood and hem both have elastic bungees so wind and rain stay at bay and the self-binding at the inner hood reduces that tugging weight that some jackets have.
Fit
The tights came to me in medium. I own the Teak colored ones in a large, which I ordered a bit larger since fleecy tights sometimes feel more compressive. I will say both fit me. I often struggle with insulated tights because the brushed fibers seem to want to drag down and sag as I move.
That doesn’t happen with these. Once I pull these on and tie the drawstring, they stay put for the duration of my journey. Also to be noted is that these are a full length tight, so there should be no cold ankles for taller runners. I will say having now owned both the medium and large sizes, I do prefer the large.
The Glacier Joggers also came to me in a size medium. I feel that these are the perfect size for me, but it’s all personal preference in how loose you like your joggers.
The Serenity ½-Zip is not quite a crop-top but it’s on the shorter side as far as shirts go. I received it in a size medium, and I have a long torso, so short-waisted shirts can be a gamble since I’m not really at an age where I want to show off my belly. It has a square boxy shape to it. I really feel that it’s at a good length.
I received the Haven Jacket 2.0 in a size medium, and it’s definitely a women’s cut. It’s slim through the waist. I could have gone with a large and it wouldn’t have been too big, but the medium is not too small for me. I do have wider shoulders and a larger chest, so those are considerations.
Overall/For Consideration
Korsa never disappoints. The items I got to review were of good quality. The tights and jacket will be great staples for a long run in the cold, and the joggers and the 1/4 zip are perfect for the cooldown or for relaxing at home. The materials are soft and something to look forward to sliding into, but also functional for the months yet to come.
