Summer Adventures Made Easy with Royal Robbins

Advertisements

We have reviewed a handful of items from Royal Robbins over the years. Obviously, their gear is more casual and outdoors wear than running wear, but their big claim to fame has actually been in the rock-climbing world. I recommend reading about their story and seeing how a few new items from their recent launch could be great options for active individuals this summer!

All-In Shorts

I don’t hike a ton (why hike when you can run?!), but some of my favorite memories have come from walking the trails—especially when there’s a fun payoff at the end. Two that come to mind immediately are the Twin Falls hike in Maui and Drift Creek Falls just outside of Lincoln City.

Both were beautiful hikes that ended at awesome swimming holes. And both times, I found myself wishing I had a pair of shorts that could handle getting wet without being a soggy mess the rest of the day.

Enter the Royal Robbins All In Short. Inspired by designs from the Royal Robbins archives of the ’90s and built with a focus on creating the very best, these shorts are made with durable, lightweight, and soft recycled-nylon. They’re built for river days, hiking trails, and pretty much anything else you throw at them.

The All-In Shorts are super comfortable, and their versatility is exactly what I was missing on those hikes. They’re quick-drying, easy to move in, and come in a handful of fun colors that feel just right for a day on the trail—or a run that might end with a swim. If you know (or even just hope) you’ll find a great spot to cool off midway through your adventure, these are exactly the shorts you want to be wearing.

Amp Lite II S/S

Speaking of hiking, Royal Robbins has been making the Amp Lite line for a while, and now the Amp Lite II steps things up with some nice updates. Available in both short sleeve and long sleeve options, this version uses a 100% recycled polyester fabric that’s incredibly light and feels awesome in warm temps.

It’s collared, which makes it a natural fit for activities like hiking, stand-up paddleboarding, or any outdoor adventure where you want to stay a little polished. (That said, I love a good collared running shirt, and honestly, this one could handle a run just fine too.) It’s cut loose with just enough stretch and give, so it moves with you and never feels restrictive, no matter what you’re getting into.

The Amp Lite II comes in five different colors—some solid, some with fun, summery designs—giving you options whether you want to keep it classic or go a little more bold.

Royal Robbins has a variety of other pieces of apparel in Men’s and Women’s varieties that may strike your fancy for all your outdoors needs. You can even try it and return it for free if you don’t love it.
