As the warm days return, its officially sunglasses season, and we’re back with a fresh review of the latest must-have accessory. Introducing the Cammina from Ombraz, the newest addition to their award-winning collection.
Before getting into this style, we would be remiss to go much forther without discussing what makes Ombraz unique.
What sets Ombraz apart is their lack of traditional arms; instead, they feature an adjustable cord made from 100% recycled marine-grade Japanese nylon. While putting them on and taking them off may initially seem a little confusing, it becomes second nature once you get the hang of it.
While we enjoyed the previous version we received, the frame size was a bit smaller than we typically prefer. The Cammina, however, provides a noticeably larger coverage area, catering to those who favor a more expansive fit. Ombraz offers this model in both regular and narrow sizing, ensuring there’s a perfect fit for everyone.
These sunglasses are tough as nails, made from lightweight, nearly indestructible materials with aerospace engineering. They come in two lens options—polarized and non-polarized—and both are coated to resist smudges and scratches.
We’ve found these sunglasses to be super comfortable. Even though I usually don’t have issues with traditional sunglasses, Ombraz’ design tackles common problems like squeezing or making your ears sore.
These sunglasses are super practical, especially for outdoor activities like hiking in the PNW where the light changes quickly. Thanks to their armless design, you can hang them around your neck, keeping them handy. Plus, without side arms to break or bend, you can easily stash them in your pack or pocket without worry.
During my runs, these sunglasses stayed put without any need for fiddling. Their featherlight design offers a “barely there” sensation, making them ideal for those long, uninterrupted runs. In essence, the Cammina isn’t just a pair of sunglasses; it’s a nod to Italian craftsmanship and a versatile accessory for any runner.
Whether you’re gearing up for a long run or just heading out for a quick jog, these shades are designed to keep you looking stylish while you hit the trails.
