There is not time to race if you haven’t registered for Terrapin Events’ Rose City Relay on Saturday, June 29th. This event is new-ish to the one-day relay scene, but it is sure action packed! There are two options – a 68 mile running option and a 47 mile walking option. Both races start and finish at Level Beer (on the Columbia River and NE 148th St). The running relay course has some absolutely iconic routes:
- Beautiful views of the Columbia Gorge
- Run through downtown Troutdale
- Run along the Columbia River on Marine Drive
- Run through Smith and Bybee wildlife refuge
- Run through Chimney and Pier Parks
- Run through St. Johns
- Run over St. John’s Bridge
- Run on the esplanade along the Willamette River
- Run over Hawthorne Bridge
- Run along the Springwater Corridor
- Run through Oaks bottom park
- Run past Powell Butte park
- Beautiful views of Mt. Hood
Teams can go from 1-6 members and must finish within 14 hours of their start. Waves start from 6-11am and the after-party at Level will go from 7-10pm. On June 28th, there will be a team captain’s gathering, as well as a van decorating party, so keep that on your list as well.
