Race Preview: 2018 Canby 5k/10k

The 6th annual Canby 5k run/walk and 10k run will take place this year on Saturday, June 16th at Canby’s Wait Park. This small town race is chip timed by Eclectic Edge, and all proceeds benefit Young Life of Canby and the Canby High School cross country team. Registration for the 5k is an affordable $30 and includes a shirt if you register before June 4th. The 10k is $35. For families of four or more, the 5k registration is $25 per person, and the 10k $30 per person.

The race starts and ends at beautiful and shaded Wait Park, where the 5k and 10k start together at 10am. The course takes participants through neighborhoods and along fields. The 5k course is run entirely on paved streets and sidewalks, running a loop through Canby. The 10k course splits from the 5k at about 1.5 miles, and heads north to loop around Willamette Valley Country Club, then rejoins the 5k course with one mile left in the race. After the race, stick around for some barbecue, get your picture taken in the photo booth.
