This race is a perfect mid-size race, which hits Beaverton streets on July 23, 2017. The event is capped at 300 runners, a healthy amount but not overwhelming. The event is truly local, as it is hosted by the Beaverton Rotary, with proceeds being used to assist families and children in the Beaverton area. They are wanting to get the whole family (or even friends) together and are offering a discount of $5 per person for those groups who register 5 or more people. We highlighted the course in our initial preview:
This is an exceptionally family friendly event – fast, slow, runner, walker, strollers pushers and dog walkers, someone trying to “PR”, or even if you are just clocking some mileage or burning some calories – all abilities are welcome to participate. The 10k is more challenging and geared toward runners and the 5k, while still viable for all runners, is perfect for the entire family.
Now may be the perfect opportunity to get back into a positive running state of mind and evaluate all the great races that are worthy of your entry fees. I’m sure the Beaverton Sun Run would be one such race.
