Race Preview: 2016 Parker Archie Moore 3.5 Mile Memorial Run/Walk

The 2nd annual Parker Archie Moore 3.5 Mile Memorial Run/Walk will be held at Linfield College on October 2. Parker Moore was tragically killed in 2014 during his sophomore year at Linfield. Parker was a linebacker on the Linfield Wildcats football team. The McMinnville Police and Fire Departments teamed up with Linfield College to honor Parker’s life and legacy with this Memorial Run. Proceeds from this 3.5 mile race will go to the Parker Archie Moore Memorial Fund. This fund was set up by Parker’s family to provide scholarship support to a Linfield student who most exemplifies Parker’s outstanding character and qualities.

The flat 3.5 mile course will start and finish on the track that surrounds Maxwell Field, the home football field of the Linfield College Wildcats. The entire course is on the Linfield campus. 1.5 miles of it will be on a well-maintained bark chip running path. There will be one aid station on the course with water and Gatorade. Be aware, that this course is not ideal for strollers.

Parking for this event will be at the south end of the campus near the HP apartments. Shirt sizes for this race are no longer guaranteed at this date and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
