Race Preview: 2016 iRun for Kids (Albany)

As racing season ramps up, make sure you add the iRun for Kids 10-mile fun run to your calendar! The race, a benefit for the Albany Public Schools Foundation classroom grant program, will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016. If you’re still working up to 10 miles, rest assured that there is also a 5k run/walk.

The 10-mile race, now in its 14^th year, starts at 9 AM at the North Albany Village. The course takes participants through historic downtown Albany and to Bryant Park. Organizers say that it is a great event for “serious” racers as well as those looking for a fun, easy run.

Advanced registration is available online for $45.00 for the 10 mile event and $35.00 for the 5k. Students 18 and under can enter either event for $5.00. Shirts are not included in the cost of registration.

Packet pickup will be offered on Friday, March 11, from 4-7 PM near Ray’s Food Place in North Albany and again on race day morning beginning at 7 AM. Late registration will also be accepted during those times.
