Race Preview: 2015 Run for Your Nuts 5k

Admit it. The name of this race caught your eye! Whether you’re a squirrel, nut-lover, or just plain curious, you really ought to Run for Your Nuts this year. This 5K in Mount Angel is tied in with the annual Hazelnut Festival and German Holiday Market. The affordable race fee even includes an entry to the festival.

Mt. Angel is less than an hour from downtown Portland and is known for its ups and downs. Expect a mix of hills and flat on this challenging 5K course.

As the name of the race suggests, you really are running for your nuts. All participants will receive their nuts (hazelnuts, that is) at the finish line. Make sure to take advantage of your free entry to the festivities and check out the Fourth Annual Hazelnut Festival. Featuring regional arts and crafts, authentic & traditional German Christmas decorations and crafts, Oregon wineries and breweries, as well as foods that highlight hazelnuts; there is sure to be something for everyone.
