Race preview: 2nd Annual Winter’s Hill Vineyard Fun Run & Walk, August 16th, Dayton, OR

Oregon’s wine country provides some grape… er, great settings for scenic races, and while there are a few events that have been around awhile, most are of a more recent vintage. One of the newest is the Winter’s Hill Vineyard Fun Run 10k and 5k in the Dundee Hills near Dayton. In its second year, this race features a hilly and varied course and terrific views. Participants will encounter forest, vineyards, and open prairie along the 5k route (two laps for the 10k).

Post race wine and local farm food will be available, and all finishers will receive a prize. Awards will be presented to the overall top male and female, as well the top finishers over 50. In addition, the last person to finish will also win a prize!

Whether you already call the Oregon wine country your stomping grounds or you plan on making a special trip from the city, the Winter’s Hill Vineyard 5K/10K promises to be a fun and panoramic run or walk in some of Oregon’s most beautiful countryside.
