The 5k event will take place at Goss Stadium, home to the OSU Beavers for most of the year and the collegiate Summer league team – the Corvallis Knights – when school is not in session.
According to the website, the race course itself will be primarily ran through much of the shade on the Oregon State campus, before entering the actual field and running the length of the outfield. The final spring will be a straight shot from the foul pole to finish at home plate! This year, the top male and female finisher, as well as the winners of the boys / girls categories will get to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. How awesome is that!
My daughter started tee ball this year, and she can’t wait for our local Minor League team to start later this month. She is wanting to go to every game she can and who am I to argue with that. This race offers an evening start (5pm) and offers a unique experience for the seasoned runner.
In addition to the race, the entry fee will include entry to the Knights game, a shirt, as well as a BBQ dinner on the TnT Builders Party Deck down the left field line. Companion tickets are available for $15 (includes the meal on the party deck).
I will likely be bringing up my daughter for a great night of running and taking in a game. Hope to see you out there!
When: 5p for walkers; 530p for runners
