NOTE: Even though this is a free event, you are still asked to RSVP; interest is so great that Foot Traffic is actually hosting a pre-run bib pick up/waiver signing to keep things on schedule on the event date! Similar to other scavenger hunt runs, the Spooky Sellwood is free and set up for runners and walkers. Unlike other scavenger hunt runs, this one actively encourages costumes and will likely have a few spook-tacular surprises along the route!
Speaking of costumes, here are few pretty easy ideas you can roll with:
- Stop by Value Village and pick up any sort of wig, tutu and/or wings combination
- Raid your underwear drawer for a plain white t-shirt and write “Fallopian Swim Team” on it. Top it off with a swim cap and you’re … well, we’re all adults. You figure it out.
- Pin a red (or any color) towel to your shoulders and run with a basket of treats to go as Little Red Running Hood
- Scrunch up scratch paper or newspaper pages, gum wrappers, and other lightweight trash and pin it to your running clothes to go as a runner in a headwind
Full-on costumes, like those worthy of Mel Ortiz, our Costumed Runner, are also highly appreciated!
