Make your Memorial Day memorable by running the undulating hills of picturesque West Linn and Lake Oswego. This course has a downhill finish in the canopied forest and recreational fields of Mary Young Park. Hear that? It’s the lazy Willamette River meandering nearby. The 2022 Up The Lazy River10K and free kids’ race is Memorial Day, Monday, May 30 starting at 9 a.m. ORRC is eliminating touchpoints between volunteers and participants, as well as being a good steward to the Earth. We have eliminated paper cups at our aid stations. Please bring your own container. ORRC will be giving reusable silicone cups to all participants at the event. COURSE INFORMATION The 15K will consist of 3 loops of the 5K course. The 10K will consist of 2 loops of the 5K course. Three five-race Series (Spring, Summer and Fall) are held Wednesday evenings from May-October, and each race covers a different, challenging course, ranging from 4-7 miles. Runners that participate in at least four races for each Series are included in the overall Series standings, and doing well in the Series will land you some fantastic gear from our great sponsors. The Series will benefit the Forest Park Conservancy and a post-Series party is held immediately after the final race at the Lucky Lab Brew Pub. Portland’s most popular fun run, the Starlight Run,is the wacky warm-up act for the Portland General Electric/SOLVE Starlight Parade is starting and finishing on Naito Parkway at Rose Festival CityFair. The 44th Annual Starlight Run will start at 7:00 p.m. The traditional costume contest will be held at 5:45. The expected route is: start near Morrison Street at Naito, go north, then turn up SW Harvey Milk Street (formerly Stark Street) and join the Starlight Parade route at 4th AVE. Runners will follow the parade route up to 14th AVE where they will loop around Lincoln High School and race down to Burnside, then to 4th Ave and back to SW Harvey Milk Street returning to Naito Parkway. Oregon Track Club Monthly Run/Walk Oregon Track Club has hosted an annual Run/Walk series since 2011. They are kept interesting and fun by varying the locations in the Eugene/Springfield area, the distance (5K to 10K) and the surface (paved, gravel or bark trails, hybrid). The Run/Walks are at 6pm on the second Thursday of the month from March through October. The original east-of-Wy’east Mt. Hood race, this 50-miler and 50K is possibly our most scenic yet. You will want to return to these ridge line trails again and again. The Wy’east Wonder is a point-to-point race run mostly on two ridges alongside Mt. Hood; Gunsight Ridge and Surveyor’s Ridge. You will have so many views of Wy’east (the Multnomah Tribe word for Mt. Hood) as you make your way from it’s southern side around to the east, that you may actually get tired of looking at it. We promise we’ll take your breath away, and it won’t be from only running. This 12-hour and 24-hour loop race lets runners challenge themselves to see just how many miles they can run in a set time limit. The course is a 1.05-mile, mostly trail, loop through Elijah Bristow State Park, just 30 minutes east of Eugene, Oregon. An amazing aid station is available every loop and/or runners can set up their own space to feed and fuel themselves or for a crew to support them along the way. The race is at the Elijah Bristow State Park and occurs on a 1.05-mile loop. The course is almost all dirt trail, with a short section on pavement as you approach and leave the aid station/timing/parking area. There is about 16 feet of gain in a loop, so this is pancake-flat.
