Registration is now open for Terrapin’s Cinco de Mayo 5k, 10k, and half marathon held on Sunday, May 4th, 2014. All three events start and finish at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downton Portland. Race maps are not yet available, but in the past the 5k and 10k have stayed in downtown and along the waterfront, while the half-marathon tackled the Terwilliger Blvd serpentine road towards the VA hospital on the hill. The mile is a tricky race, balanced between the longer sprints and shorter distance runs. It requires the stamina to hold a tough pace and the mental strength to hit a stride that seems uncomfortable to maintain before the race is even half over.
