Any runner knows that Ciele makes some great headwear. Over the years, the brand has become almost synonymous with performance running caps thanks to a balance of style, comfort, and functionality that few brands have matched.
But beyond headwear, Ciele has really been dialing in some solid apparel over the past few years, and their recently launched Elite Collection takes things another step forward in both lightweight performance and design.
We recently checked out a couple of new hats from the collection.
FSTCap Ethereal – LT – Elite
The FSTCap itself is not necessarily new, but the Ethereal silhouette really pushes it a step further in terms of both looks and functionality.
Visually, this might be one of the more interesting running caps we have seen recently. The Columbia blue paired with muted green side panels creates a look that feels unique without screaming for attention. It is bold in a very understated way. The overall design has an aerodynamic appearance, and it is interesting to see how the short bill continues along the sides of the hat, creating a sleek and aerodynamic profile. It feels loud in a soft way — if that makes sense. There is also a black version available for those wanting something a little more subtle.
Performance-wise, the hat packs a surprising amount of technology into an incredibly lightweight package. The stretch TERRAstop ripstop woven fabric fits comfortably and securely on the head without feeling restrictive, while still maintaining structure well during movement. The knit construction incorporates carbon-infused yarns designed to resist odor while helping keep the hat drier and more durable over time.
As expected from Ciele, breathability and comfort are excellent, and the lightweight nature of the hat makes it easy to forget you are even wearing it during a run. This feels like a cap built specifically for fast efforts and warm-weather training where every ounce and every bit of ventilation matters.
TRLBucket – Elite
I am not a bucket hat wearer by and large, but since skin cancer runs in my family, I have become increasingly conscious about coverage during long hours outside.
The TRLBucket – Elite immediately stands out as a unique-looking option that provides substantial sun protection without completely sacrificing performance. This feels tailor-made for those long summer runs when the sun is relentlessly pounding overhead, but it also transitions seamlessly into everyday outdoor use — whether that is sitting at the pool or doing yardwork, which I like to call recovery and cross-training respectively.
Ciele uses what it calls RAYaway mini ripstop ceramic-printed woven fabric, which is designed to refract heat and help keep you cooler when temperatures rise. The ZIPmesh back panel is another interesting touch that showcases Ciele’s roots in the performance running world, borrowing inspiration from modern performance footwear uppers and breathability.
The HOLLOWphorm brim delivers substantial front coverage while still maintaining a lightweight feel, and the integrated rear neck protector extends protection exactly where many runners and outdoor athletes need it most. One particularly nice feature is that the neck coverage can be folded up and tucked away when conditions do not require the extra protection.
Both of these hats continue to reinforce what Ciele has become known for within the running space: blending technical performance with distinctive design language. The Elite collection especially feels like an evolution of what modern running headwear can be.
