Feel the Heat at the Tillamook Burn

Daybreak Racing puts on some of the most epic and gorgeous trail races in the Pacific Northwest, and the 2026 Tillamook Burn Trail Run is certainly no exception. There are two amazing ultra races to choose from among the historic Tillamook Forest .. the 50 Miler on Saturday May 16th and the 55k which will follow on Sunday May 17th. you’re a real beast, you can do the 2-day double option for back-to-back races.

The “Tillamook Burn” of the event title comes from the historic forest fires from 1933 to 1951 that claimed many old growth trees in the Tillamook Rainforest. The lush second-growth forest that exists today is a beautiful backdrop for trail racing. Runners will gather at the staging area in Reehers Camp.

The 50 Miler is a point-to-point race on singletrack trails and forest roads. There will be a bus available at Reehers Camp that Saturday at 4:45AM to shuttle runners to the start line at Smith Homestead. There will be NO bib pickup at the start line.

The race will begin at 6:00AM and the final cutoff time for the race is 14 hours (8:00PM.) It’s a hilly route with some technical sections but the trails are generally soft dirt. Runners will have 9500 feet of climbing and 8900 feet of descent. There will be 7 aid stations and you should plan to bring your own drinking vessel, as all Daybreak races are CUPLESS. There is a drop bag option for all participants.

The 55k mav be the shorter race distance, but it will also be tough, with 6900 feet of ascent and descent. Like the 50 Miler, there’s a generally soft dirt surface and some technical sections. This route is a lollipop loop, almost entirely on singletrack trail. There are 5 aid stations along the course. This Sunday race will begin at 7:00AM at Reehers Camp and the final cut off is at 5:00PM, which means runners have 10 hours to finish the race. There is also a drop bag option for this distance as well.

All participants will receive a post-race meal and beverages and there will be a bonfire going all day, so runners are encouraged to hang out as long as they want to. Everyone will also get a custom finisher award. Race shirts can be added for an additional fee.

This race will be difficult but beautiful, which really makes it worth the hurt!
