Daybreak Racing gives the Pacific Northwest some of the most scenic events, and the Rogue Gorge should be on every race bucket list. This year, this 50k, half marathon, and 12k will be held over the weekend of October 19th and 20th, just as the Fall is proving to us why it’s the best running season.
The Rogue Gorge will take runners alongside Rogue Gorge Trail and Upper Rogue River in Southern Oregon. The singletrack trails will travel the old growth forests above the famous Rogue River in historic Union Creek.
The 50k will be on Saturday October 19th at 8:00AM and participants will be treated to 31 miles of 3000 feet of ascent and descent with 4 aid stations along the course. The Half Marathon, (which occurs the next day on October 20th at 8:00AM,) is considered a FAST out and back course along the river with just 900 feet of ascent and descent. There is 1 aid station along this course.
Finally, the 12k, also on October 20th a half hour later at 8:30AM, is mostly a lollipop style looped course with 330 feet of ascent and decent. All of these courses travel along the rim of the Upper Rogue River. All races must conclude by the 5:00PM cutoff on Saturday and the 12:00PM cutoff Sunday.
There will be an optional bib pickup and campfire on Friday October 18th at Union Creek Picnic Shelter from 5:30 to 7:30PM. BYO camping chair and some beverages and hang out by the fire. There will be s’mores fixings ready for you. Otherwise, you can wait until the morning of your race to get your bib, starting at 7:00AM.
