Groovy Gallop: Get Ready for the 2024 Hippie Chick

It’s not a party if Run With Paula Events isn’t there! And there’s no better way to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend than to come out to Champoeg State Park to do the 2024 Hippie Chick Half Marathon/Quarter Marathon/5k on Saturday May 11th!

Both the half marathon and quarter marathon will start and finish together at 8:00AM at the Riverside Day Use Area at Champoeg State Park, the Hippie Chick’s old stomping grounds. After 6.55 miles, the half marathoners will turn around and head out along the park for their second loop while the quarter marathoners will celebrate their finish. The 5k will also start at 8:00AM.

Champoeg State Park primarily follows bike paths and park roads, so this will be your terrain on race day. The route is mostly flat and very pretty. Hydration stations will be fully stocked with water and NUUN Strawberry Lemonade. Some stations will also have GU Energy Gels.

All half and quarter marathon participants will get technical race tee as well as a finisher medal.

Parking is limited at this location, and there is a $5 parking fee, so please consider carpooling. This is a great opportunity to run with friends and/or family, so take advantage and ride together!!

The Beer Garden will be open from 8:30AM to 12:30PM and there will be post race food and music along with some refreshing beverages. The post-race party at Paula’s races are always fun, so stick along and hang out and cheer on all your fellow hippie chicks!
