Run the Wide Open Spaces of the Owyhee Off-Road Challenge

Looking for something that’s off the beaten path? The scenic Owyhee Off-Road Challenge is probably right up your alley. Venture out to Adrian, Oregon (about 50 miles northwest of Boise, Idaho) for this small-town event raising money for equipment for the new Adrian School District track and Adrian youth programs.

Whether you feel like running long or short, this race has you covered. Choose from a 55K, half-marathon, 10K, or 5K (course information HERE). With views of the Owyhee Valley and the Snake River while running in wide open spaces – this race looks pretty epic. Just watching the video below had me itching to run this course.

The Owyhee Off-Road Challenge has plenty of aid stations and the volunteers are rumored to be the friendliest this side of the Rockies. Finishers will receive a handcrafted medal and there will be awards for top 3 male/female for each distance. Changing rooms and showers will be available at the school post-race.

Please be aware: For safety reasons, due to the rugged and uneven terrain, dogs, baby joggers, strollers, baby carriers, and baby backpacks, are NOT allowed on this course.

This race is on my must-do list. How about yours?
