Unleashing our Inner Adventurer with the Floatride Energy 5 Adventure from Reebok

Reebok is definitely one of those athletic brands that has withstood the test of time – continually offering up some really cool and innovative products. One of their latest offerings is the Floatride Energy 5 Adventure shoe. Made for the trails, but optimally engineered to also handle the road, these shoes should be your next go-to hybrid shoe option.

Looks:

If I had to come up with a tagline to describe the aesthetics of the Floatride Energy 5 Adventure shoes, I would describe them as: ‘quietly confident.’ The upper is a half greyish-white, half-neon yellow, paired with a beige outsole – described as Steely Fog / Stucco / Citrus. These shoes are muted enough to blend in with the crowd, but bold enough to catch your eye and elicit a double-take.

Fit & Construction:

I found that the Reebok Floatride Energy 5 Adventure fits true to size. The shoe has a narrow to medium fit, so it is best suited for runners with narrow to medium feet. The upper is comfortable and supportive, and it provides an excellent lockdown, giving you that perfect cinderella glass slipper fit.

Upper:

The upper is one of the most impressive features of the shoe. It is made from a lightweight and breathable mesh material that is also very durable. The mesh is perforated to allow for airflow and to keep the foot cool and dry. The upper also features a number of overlays to provide support and structure. The overlays are made from a durable Cordura material that is ready to withstand whatever terrain you throw at it.

The shoe has a traditional lace-up closure with a tongue that is gusseted to prevent it from slipping to the side. The tongue is also padded to provide comfort and to protect the laces from rubbing against the foot.

One of the things that I really like about the upper is that it is very comfortable. The mesh material is soft and flexible, and it does not cause any chafing or irritation. The overlays are also well-placed and do not restrict the movement of the foot.

Midsole:

The midsole is made from Reebok’s Floatride Energy foam, which is a lightweight and responsive foam that provides good cushioning and energy return. The midsole also features a slight rocker shape that helps to promote a smooth and efficient stride.

I really appreciate the fact that the midsole is so responsive. It provides a lot of bounce and energy return, which makes running feel very effortless. The cushioning is also very good, and it protects my feet from impact on harder surfaces.

The X-plate in the midfoot is a great addition to the shoe. It provides additional support and stability, which is especially helpful on uneven terrain. I have found that the plate helps to prevent my feet from rolling over, and it also helps to reduce fatigue.

Outsole:

The outsole of the Floatride Energy 5 Adventure is well-designed and provides great traction on a variety of surfaces. The lugs are not too deep, so the shoe can be used on pavement without any problems. However, the lugs are deep enough to provide good traction on trails and dirt roads.

Conclusion:

The Reebok Floatride Energy 5 Adventure is an incredibly versatile running shoe that’s made for the trails but road-ready when the opportunity strikes. The shoe is also relatively affordable, making it an excellent value for the price.
