Way down yonder, along the south coast of Oregon, is a gem of an area known as Coos Bay and North Bend. The South Coast Running Club makes their home here and are the organizers for the Circle the Bay 30K.
Runners can tackle the 30K course (18.6 miles) on their own, or as a team of 3, where each runner takes 10K. The tricky thing about the relay is deciding who gets the flat section and who gets the hills!
And if you haven’t been to the south coast before, this is a great event to head down for. The Coos Bay area is known for 15-20 degree cooler temps in the summer, while still getting the sun, which makes for ideal running conditions! Additionally, walkers are encouraged to go the distance, whether as individuals or teams, and start the race 90 minutes before the runners.
When: Saturday, August 12th. Walkers start at 6:30am. Runners start at 8am.
Cost/Registration: Individual runner/walker = $55. Teams of 3 runners/walkers = $120. Register online at RunSignUp
