“Aero Volt is our wild child all-urban runner”
Check out our other review of the Aero Volt Here!
Now I have never been called “a wild child,” but I am happy to try on the label for a anything that will help summertime running. The new Aero Volt from Salomon uses a lightweight mesh on the top that is a bit see-through, with just enough fabric to keep your foot secure without adding any extra weight or heat. When I went for my first run, the mesh did have me thinking way more about matching socks than I normally do.
Another part of the look that I didn’t expect, and really liked, was the cushioning on the bottom that had a street-worn look to them already, or like a piece of graffiti art. There were crease marks on the sides after a few uses, confirming that theses shoes are more for short runs than long-mile support. The super-long laces had me a little worried at first about tripping, so I used the stiff shoe tongue to loop around a bit more. Overall, my “Tender Peach / Virtual Pink / White” shoes had me feeling like a basketball player out on a run in the June sunshine.
Here’s a few more details on these shoes from the folks at Salomon: It’s super lightweight, very breathable and disruptive in design. Built from a unique mesh that ensures steady air flow and cool feet, with soft fabrics for a plush, premium fit. High on energy return and cushioning for a wide range of runs and ideal for spicy summer conditions.
