I’m Your Huckleberry…Running Festival Half Marathon/10k/5k

You gotta love a race that features Bigfoot. Get your hands on a Bigfoot medal at the 2023 Huckleberry Running Festival, occurring Saturday, August 5th, 2023 in Welches, Oregon. This event has a half marathon, a 10k, a 5k, and even a 1k Kids Sasquatch Sprint, so there is a distance for everyone! Hooray!

The Huckleberry Running Festival begins at Welches Middle School (24903 E Salmon River Road, Welches, Oregon, 97067). Parking is limited so definitely consider carpooling.

What makes the Huckleberry Running Festival special (other than Bigfoot!) is the scenery. It’s stunning, with the semi-closed route being a large loop on paved, flat surfaces, with some rolling hills thrown in for a little challenge! You’ll truly get to explore the Mt. Hood area with this race! The half marathon will follow the 10k course, but it’ll add some extra miles and take you across the Salmon River twice.

The 10k takes participants will get to take in the gorgeous Cascade Mountains Range, and see “the scenery of moss-filled trees and woodsy homes”. I love this!

The 5k will travel around the gorgeous fairways and into The Resort at the Mtn neighborhoods. This out and back course will make you want to keep going to see more! It will provide you a taste of all the beautiful sights to see in the area.

Besides beautiful scenery and Bigfoot – what else do you get to look forward to by participating in this event? Well, you’ll get complimentary Bigfoot photos (woah!), a finisher’s shirt, and a unique finisher’s medal.

Come out in August for this event and maybe you’ll see Bigfoot!
