Independence Day is almost the Turkey Trot holiday of the summer – with multiple races across the state to enjoy. Obviously, the numbers don’t rival the November holiday racing schedule, but there are at least 10 4th of July races in Oregon that you can plan around this year:
- 4th of July Mini-Marathon (Monmouth): A holiday staple 2.6-mile run that starts in Monmouth and ends in Independence.
- Ashland 4th of July Run: The 47th annual race offering 10K and 2-mile distances.
- Butte to Butte 10K (Eugene): A popular race in Eugene that starts near Spencer Butte and ends near Skinner Butte. Features a 10K, 4-mile, and 5K options.
- Firecracker Run (Coos Bay): A 4K run at Mingus Park, including a 4k and kids’ run.
- Foot Traffic Flat Marathon (Portland): A BQ event that everyone needs to experience once – featuring a 26.2 miles, 13.1 miles, 10K, and 5K distances.
- Independence Day Half Marathon (St. Paul): A Run with Paula scenic trail run in Champoeg Park – distances of 13.1 miles, 10K, and 5K.
- Molalla Firecracker 5K: A race preceding the local street parade run with lots of fans cheering runners on.
- Newport Celebration Run: A half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a kids’ run with a rare opportunity to run on NOAA’s 1,300+ pier..
- Stayton Fun Run: A fun run with a 3K option and trail runs of 10K and 5K.
- Vale 4th of July Fun Run: 10K, 5K, and 1-mile distances as part of the 4th of July celebrations in far Eastern Oregon.
