After living in Oregon for multiple years, my very first visit to Bend was for the Bend Marathon. It was the perfect way to fall in love with the city. Kind people. Scenic route. And lots of breweries to try out. As our own Matt Rasmussen said (and is quoted for on the Bend Marathon website):
“Trust me, this is the latest addition to YOUR ‘Running Bucket List’. You won’t regret it. Prepare to be blown away.”
Bend Marathon includes four different races, and distances, so you get lots options for your ideal running weekend. You can go for a shorter 5K or 10K, to get to the finish line party sooner. Or see more of the area through the half marathon or full marathon distance. No matter the distance, you will be starting and finishing in Bend’s Old Mill District. At that finish line you will receive your medal (including kids participating in the 5K for free!). Participants will also get a t-shirt and swag bag at packet pick-up.
There are no time limits to complete the race. After 7 hours the marathon course will no longer be supported, but there will still be a finish line waiting for you.
Check out the Bend Marathon and learn why Bend is called “The mountain town that has it all.”
