The Oregon Coast isn’t usually by first thought when it comes to Thanksgiving. But that may be changing after learning about these two Turkey Trots…
Newport Turkey Trot
The Newport Turkey Trot will have you wandering all over the town through their 10K, 5K, and Kids Fun run options. The course is primarily flat, which means absolutely no excuses to not be part of the costume contest. Think about strutting by the Pacific Ocean in a fabulous Minion costume (or whatever character is bringing you joy this year). And then adding on the lovely bling of a finisher’s medal.
Proceeds from the event go toward helping families in Lincoln County through a donation to Food Share of Lincoln County.
South Coast Turkey Trot
South Coast Running Club is putting on a FREE Turkey Trot 5K run/walk/push-a-pram event in John Topits Park. Participants are to bring (at least) two cans of food for the entry fee. There is no numbers, no timing, no pressure in this whole family event. It is just a chance to start the day off well with a few miles in John Topits Park.
Be sure to complete the waiver in advance so that everyone is included and supported well.
