If you’re looking for a great local race, the 8th Annual Beaverton Sun Run is back after a two year delay. This run, brought to us all by the Beaverton Rotary, is partnering with the Beaverton Parade. Before the parade is to begin, this 5k Run/Walk will occur on a back and forth route between about 5th and Maple and Evelyn M. Schiffler Memorial Park at 8:30AM on Saturday, September 10th. The race will be certified by USA Track and Field!
The route for the event will overlap with the parade route. The parade begins at 10:00AM and participants of the Sun Run are encouraged to stick around after they finish the race to watch and/or to check out the Saturday Beaverton Farmer’s Market.
As always, this race will benefit a good cause. The Beaverton Sun Run raises money for the Rotary Club of Beaverton, which serves the Beaverton community in funding scholarships, books for kids, and warm coats and shoes. They also take part in local and worldwide projects to help the community and have been doing so for over 60 years.
