Don’t Get it Twisted – the 2022 Twisted Pine Run is a coastal gem

Need a good excuse to go to the coast for a race? We’ve got a good one! The Twisted Pine Run offers 3 race distances, and is located in Newport, at South Beach State Park. Every distance is a little different, and not just in length.

The 5K is mostly single-track trail and is fully within the state park. It includes about 3/4 miles of pavement, and has approximately 124’ of elevation gain. The actual distance is 3.28 miles.

The 10K is also mostly in the park. However, it goes out to the beach for about one mile, includes approx. 1.3 miles of pavement, and nearly 4 miles of beautiful single track trails. It has approx. 200ft of elevation gain. The actual distance is 6.25 miles.

The half marathon is about half single-track and half pavement, with a little less than one mile on the beach. The elevation gain is 593’ and is right at 13.1 miles.

South Beach State Park is a gem with some great trails that even most locals don’t know about. Situated next to the Yaquina Bay Bridge it offers access to miles of sandy ocean beach and beautiful single track trails. If you haven’t gotten out to the beach lately, here’s your chance!

When: Saturday, September 10th. Half starts at 8:30am. 10K starts at 8:35am. 5K starts at 8:45am
