Oktoberfest is a wonderful tradition and a great time to celebrate the German style street fairs and festivals. That’s why you shouldn’t miss the Mt Angel Oktoberfest, which takes place September 15th-18th in Mt Angel, Oregon. And now, the Oktoberfest Road Race is back in 2022 as part of the celebration!
This race used to take place on Saturday morning before most of the Oktoberfest gets going, but this year it will take place on Sunday, September 18th, the last day of the celebration. Another change is that it starts and finishes at John F. Kennedy High School in Mount Angel (rather than at Humpert Park as it did previously.)
The 5k and 10k, both hosted by Silverton Runners’ Club, start together at 9:00AM. The 10k run will take participants up the Mount Angel Abbey Hill and back down, and you’re guaranteed some great views at the top. After you’re done with your run, head over to enjoy what the Oktoberfest has to offer. There will be sausage and beer, two staples of German culture!
