Race Preview: 2022 Canby Dahlia Run (Half and 10K)

One of my very favorite friends lives in Canby and she’s not wrong: it’s a cute little town somewhere between Portland and Salem. It’s also home to the Canby Dahlia Run, a half marathon and 10K coming up this year on August 27th for its 11th year.

The half marathon takes racers on a scenic course past a golf course, through wooded forests, and a stretch along the Willamette River. After two miles through quaint Canby neighborhoods, the course (literally) runs through Swan Island Dahlia Farm (the largest dahlia farm in the country), and past the the stunning flowers. There will be 8 water stations and all finishers will receive a medal and fresh cut dahlia.

Unfortunately the 10K does not go through the dahlia fields, but still offers a nice course on rural Canby roads (no cars!)…and you can always head up to the farm after your race!

The race is chip-timed and proceeds benefit the Junior Achievement of Oregon & SW Washington.
