Trail running. There’s nothing quite like it. And the thought of Winter coming to an end to make way for the light of Spring out in the woods makes some of us pretty excited. So mark your calendars for March 12th, 2022 and plan for the Alsea Falls Spring Fling! This event, which features a half marathon, a 10k, and a 5k, is held in the scenic coast range 20 minutes west of Monroe. There are only 250 spots total available for the Half and 10k, and a limit of 50 for the 5k.
The course follows a lush fern-laced loop through the woods. There is a road crossing for half marathoners at miles 4 and 7, and though there will be a certified flagger, please do your best to stay safe. The half marathon begins at 10:00AM with the 10k following 10 minutes later. The 5k will take off last, at 10:15AM. There will also be an early start option for the Half at 9:00AM. There is a Half Marathon cut-off at mile 7 (Aid Bravo) at 12:30PM, though the website mentions only about 2% of participants have not made it in time.
Packet pickup will be at the Fall Creek Trailhead at Alsea Falls on the day of the race. It will open at 8:00AM and it has been requested that you arrive at least 30 minutes before your race to avoid any delays. This will be a drive thru pickup.
After you complete your race, stick around for a beverage and some pizza. They will be available after 11:45AM. In addition to food, participants will earn a custom Alsea Falls pint glass plus some other pre-packaged goodies.
As mentioned, there are only a limited amount of spots for this gorgeous race, so register today and get out to the woods!!!
