ORRC’s 2022 Champoeg Runs are Back with a new Distance

Want to go for a walk in the park? Or a run? Then I have a race for you…

Oregon Road Running Club (ORRC) is a local completely volunteer-run organization that puts on multiple race events each year. The priority for this group is community involvement so every race has options for the whole family to be involved. And Champoeg Runs is no exception. There is a basic 10K course, plus longer options including a brand new marathon, 30K, or half marathon. Plus kids can be included through a special kid’s race that starts after some of the grown-ups are back to cheer them on.

The course route is a bike/pedestrian path with a few rolling hills and a few spots of gravel, but primarily flat. Participants will loop through forests, fields, and wetlands – multiple times for the longer distances. Champoeg State Park is the perfect place to enjoy an early spring day.

At the lovely finish line (aren’t finish lines always lovely?!), all participants will earn a medal and a pair of branded Fitsok socks. Plus the after-party will include soup and bread, fruit and nuts, and bagels. A race in the park and then brunch with a shiny medal. Yes please.
