Couples that run together – Valentines Day is approaching! If your significant other doesn’t run, this is a good day to give it a try. Saturday February 12th 2022 brings us the annual Michael DeRobertis Memorial Couples Classic 5000 meter Run and Fitness Walk – a fun opportunity to lace up with your favorite runner and enjoy a race together!
There will be awards given out to winning teams after the co-ed (male/female team) division, with the age group will be based of both runners ages combined. There will also be awards for individual winners if you chose not run as a team, along with wheelchair participants. There will also be numerous random prizes given out to participants from local merchants.

The race will take place at Emerald Park, a park that is in the more westerly part of town. The course is flat and fast and will consists of a few loops through
residential streets. We love that Eclectic Edge is timing, and that they will be providing splits will be given at every mile. Speaking of provisions, child care will be offered at no cost so that parents / couples can run together without needing to have one stay back to watch the kids.
There will also be dressing rooms available after the race with showers and a hot tub, so don’t forget a swimsuit and towel. Post-race refreshments include Mo’s Chowder, baked good, drinks and more. What a treat!
One of the sweetest part of this Couples “Valentines” Race is the post race blood drive. Immediately after the race, Lane Blood Center will be on-site to conduct a blood drive. Runners, walkers and their guests may register to donate that day, or schedule a blood donation for another day. Please consider – every donation helps up to three patients and blood is in high demand right now!
